Admission Requirements

$90

Academic Courses Registration for the following:

✓    For students NEW to the Centre. 
    For students who are not currently taking course(s) at the Centre this Winter.

A placement test is mandatory in the following situations:

✓     Students who do not have a MELS transcript from an English or French high school in Quebec.
✓     Students who have been out of school for more than 5 years and/or have not completed their Quebec high school. 
✓    Students who have studied outside of Quebec but within Canada may need placement testing.

A brief interview with an Academic Counsellor is required before placement testing.

You are required to reserve a place for a Placement Test by booking online.


3 ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS; no photocopies accepted. 

All 3 documents are mandatory along with the fee on the day of registration.

"A decision to promote a student to the next cycle shall be based on the student’s last report card of the last school year and on the rules governing promotion established by the school or the school service centre, according to their respective responsibilities. "


Article 27 in the Basic adult general education regulation Education Act

"Promotion shall be carried out separately for each program. Adults may enroll in a program only after obtaining the prerequisites."

Education is a life-long process. With this in mind, John F. Kennedy Education Centre offers a full range of academic programs for students looking to complete their secondary school or complete pre-requisites for CEGEP
Secondary academic courses are part of the Diversified Basic Education (DBE) program for adult learners.

Option Courses for Winter Semester

This course is designed to help adult learners acquire basic work methods that will enable them to produce structured computerized documents in a satisfactory manner.

In this course, you will deal with various learning situations that help you acquire practical knowledge about the fundamentals of the two most commonly used software programs use in school and business; Word and Excel.

You will also learn about web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox as well as about Internet security and online privacy.

Are you feeling financially stressed amid the current COVID-19 crisis?   Does it feel like the world is changing at an incredible pace and you don’t have the specific skills and knowledge needed in order to thrive? 

This course will help you can gain an upper hand on your personal finances by introducing you to basic, fundamental concepts of everyday finance.

Whether it is purchasing a car, shopping online, saving for a down payment to buy a home or completing your personal income tax declaration, we will explore various everyday decisions that we are confronted with. You will learn to how to shop for the best smartphone phone plans, the difference between buying and leasing a car,  and how to interpret the fine print in sales/leasing contracts. Additionally, we will explore and learn about the advantages and perils of the various social media platform tools,  how to search for a job, and how to market and brand yourself in the millennial world.

Optional Courses for Fall Session

This comprehensive beginner’s course will teach you basic photographic and video editing skills.

 Students will be introduced to the core fundamental elements of photography and cinematography that will be a solid foundation if they wish to pursue a career in photography, cinematography or as a hobbyist.

 With hands-on training and class discussions, ​there will be an emphasis on improving composition and technical skills. ​Once the basic knowledge has been gained, students will put together a series of photo and video projects throughout the course. Students will team-up to create various in-class project such as photo manipulation, video commercial ads, and video short films.  An iPhone or android personal device is all that is needed.  Any software that will be used is open-platform and will be downloaded free of charge.
